How do I go about getting around and in/out of NTU?
Hall 14 may be one of the further halls from NIE within the cluster, but it is still a 10-15 minutes walk (or a 5 minute bus ride) to North Spine, and has access to most of the bus services that ply the university, making it one of the more accessible halls around NTU. The following are the available bus services around Hall 14:
Hall 14
Note that all campus shuttle services are free for all NTU students. There is also a free Campus Rider Green Line (accessible from Canteen 2, the University Health Service Building, and TCT-LT in North Spine) that plies the route between TCT-LT and Pioneer. During the weekends, this line will turn into the Campus Weekend Rider Line (brown) and will stop at additional bus stops in NTU. I need food! Where should I go?
There is a canteen right in Hall 14, and 2 other canteens nearby (Hall 12 and Hall 16). While it is fortunate that a variety of good food can be found in these few canteens, things might still get bland and boring after a few weeks. Hop onto the school's shuttle bus and explore the various food places within the NTU campus! If you own a car (or a friend who does), go out of the campus and explore the Pioneer / Jurong West neighbourhood! Also, you might want to stock up that stash of food in your cupboard by taking a trip down to the supermarket in North Spine or Hall 2, or the mini mart in North Hill! If you like to cook, register and bring a mini refrigerator to hall and stock up on ingredients to cook! Note that you need to pay the hall office $80 per semester for using a refrigerator in your room.
Nearby canteens (within cluster): Canteen 14, 13, 16 and Tamarind Canteen

Cleaning up after myself
While there are a few amazing aunties and uncles assigned to clean the common areas of each hall, it is still your responsibility for cleaning up after yourself. This means that you should clean up your room from time to time before they get dusty. This also means that you should practice basic courtesy and follow basic etiquette by keeping the pantries clean after cooking, flushing the toilet after use, and unclogging the sinks after cooking or disposing your liquid waste.
Animal lovers
Sorry, but keeping pets is strictly not allowed in any NTU Hall of Residences. If you are a cat lover, you might have some respite, because the resident cats can be found around Hall for you to pet! Just don't feed them -- leave that to the professionals from the Cat Management Network in NTU. Join them if you want to be part of their cause!
Sizzling in the room
It's a really hot day, and you feel like you're about to be roasted to a crisp in your room? Thankfully, air-conditioning is available in each room! Purchase a prepaid card from the Hall Office and top up the card using the machine at the foyer outside the canteen. Then, slot the card into the card reader in your room and you will feel like it's winter in no time! The chargeable rate for air-conditioning is $0.01/2min. Don't forget to be environmentally friendly and set the minimum temperature to 25 degrees, and close your windows before using!
